The Amazing Shrivelling Tomato!

We have a tomato in our office which has been here for weeks and shows no signs of dying. Instead of going mouldy like ordinary tomatoes, the Amazing Shrivelling Tomato just keeps on shrivelling!

We did consider selling it on eBay, but decided in the end to display it on a banana tree for our fellow office workers to marvel at. No one understands the science behind this extraordinary phenomenon, so if anyone can explain what makes the tomato shrivel, please let me know!
