My colleague Phil asked to borrow some Blu Tack today and this led to a discussion about what a piece of Blu Tack is actually called (yes, it was a slow day in the office). I felt sure that it wasn't a clump or a slice, but that it could be a lump or a blob. As we like to be accurate when it comes to terminology, I had a look on the Blu Tack website to see if they could shed any light on the subject and it appears that the preferred term is indeed a blob. I also found a page of intriguing
uses of Blu Tack which was appallingly sexist. They seemed to assume that only men need to attach toll money to a motorbike and only women need to secure dog food bowls to the floor! I have e-mailed them to tell them off for being unenlightened and will let you know their response in due course.
